Salme Optic

Simple, practical and beautiful. Careful consideration has been used in choosing the glasses on display. Salme Optic opened in Helsinki in 2002 on Kalevankatu, and five years later moved to Yrjönkatu. In 2008, the showroom was extended. The timelessness of the furniture allowed it to move with the store, still creating a stunning space in the new location.
Carefully designed and skilfully crafted furniture endures in time and is therefore an ecological choice.

Simple, practical and beautiful. The Salme Optic boutique in Helsinki is one of Pure Design’s most acclaimed retail interiors and a perfect embodiment of Esa Vesmanen’s design philosophy.

When the original showroom moved to Yrjönkatu in 2008, Vesmanen designed the new space reusing all the cash desks, display cases, shelves and chairs that he had created for the previous location – exemplifying how well-designed and constructed furniture stands the test of time.

Esa Vesmanen won the Interior Architect of the Year 2008 award for his Salme Optic boutique design.
